8a.nu, much like AMGA, is only mentioned once in oral interviews. Its use was also noted by this climber outside of the interview process. Unlike AMGA, which is used for consuming content, the interviewee was interested in producing content for 8a.nu. The site is listed under "Visual/Filmography" because of the interviewee's use of the website, however, the site contains many other uses as well. Separate sections for news (reading), galleries (visual), and forum interaction exist, making it an amalgamation of the many other mediums discussed in this project. Furthermore, it includes crag and gym locators for specific areas of the globe. Yet, also like AMGA, it is relatively unadvertised, compared with sites such as MountainProject or YouTube. It is difficult to accurately discern why 8a.nu is not as popular as other mediums, but perhaps it has something to do with the interviewee's description of using the site as a "logbook." Having been unfamiliar with the site prior to this project, it came as a surprise to see the other forms of content available on the site as well.

8a.nu is an example of necessity gone awry: it does not facilitate ease of use or wide-reaching audiences in the same way other sites do. Please refer to the analysis section of this forum for a closer look alongside the thoughts of Gleick.

Edit: a late reply to the interview process further affirmed the use of 8a as a learning method. This climber used it for reading and interacting on the forums, and getting training tips. An interesting aspect of the 8a.nu userbase is that all three of those familiar with the website have been climbing for over (or nearly) a decade.
